This is no illusion - Building Africa's Fighting Game Legecy
We stand as a proud pillar of the African Fighting Game Community, leading the continent’s competitive scene with fierce talent and passion. From Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat to Guilty Gear and 2XKO, our players - like the unstoppable MarkTheShark and Zambia’s finest, Killjoy - have claimed iconic regional titles such as Red Bull Kumite South Africa and the ‘Kahn of Africa’ series, proving Africa’s might on every stage. We’re not just a team; we’re a movement, uniting the African FGC through engaging community nights and rallying fans across platforms to celebrate our shared love for fighting games. Illusion Gaming is on a mission to take African talent global - showing the world what it means to see beyond the Illusion.

COMPETITIVE
Illusion Gaming began as a fighting game team but quickly formed as more. Competing at the highest level in our respective titles we are now looking to travel internationally to compete overseas and representing the African region on the biggest stages. We are also looking to expand into more titles in 2026 such as fifa and rocket league!
CONTENT
We noticed a lack of local African content within the fighting game community, so we decided to expand our brand beyond just competing to also supporting content creators as well as producing our own content. With team members from across Africa, we aim to help them grow, connect with industry leaders, build their personal brands, and collaborate on creating high-quality content.
COMMUNITY
Illusion Gaming is a community-based organisation dedicated to creating a space for African gamers and creatives to connect with like-minded individuals, engage with each other, send messages, and have fun! If you're looking for ways to get involved, be sure to contact us on Twitter or join our Discord to meet other members, stay updated on our team, as well as participate in Illusion events, meet-ups, and giveaways.

What SETS US APART
Pan-Africanism
Illusion Gaming although based in South Africa is not locked to a single country and has players as well as fans from all around Africa, bringing the region together and creating one unified African organisation rather than fragmented national teams.

Results-First Credibility
Our reputation is built on verifiable tournament achievements and international representation, not influencer reach or inflated metrics. Since our inception in 2021 lllusion Gaming has lead African esports in both Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter. In Mortal Kombat 11 Killjoy837 and MarkTheShark dominated the South/East African region and in Street Fighter V Sekwele and Vinpetrolium competed amongst the best in South Africa. Now in Mortal Kombat 1 Killjoy continues to dominate the Zambian space and in Street Fighter 6 MarkTheShark has quickly raised to the top of the African ranks winning Red Bull Kumite South Africa and placing top 3 in the last 2 World Warrior events.
Community Focused
Everyone in Illusion Gaming has been apart of the African fighting game community for years and the organisation has been built from within the community rather then placed above it ensuring authenticity, trust and long term relevance rather than top down branding.
Above competing Illusion Gaming also hosts weekly/bi-weekly community event nights with our in house events: "Welcome To The Dungeon" and "Braggin' Rights" where the community can come together, have fun, watch some awesome local fighting game action and just hang out with each other.
